Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where is your office located?
Most patients prefer to use our telehealth services, but we also have an office in Pasadena to see patients who wish to be seen in person.
2. Do you take insurance?
At this point we are not contracted with insurance companies. We will provide you with a “superbill” at the end of each visit that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
3. Are you an alternative to a child psychiatrist?
Yes, I am a general pediatrician who has a sub-expertise in mental health. I will certainly prescribe psychiatric medication when indicated but will also consider other treatment options in lieu of or in conjunction with the use of psychiatric medication. My experience in treating the whole child will inform my approach to managing the patient’s mental health.
4. Do you provide therapy for patients?
We provide psychiatric medical treatment for our patients but do not offer psychotherapy. We are more than happy to refer you to therapists
in the community who we have come to know and trust.
5. Will you take adult patients?
I will see patients up to 22 years of age.
6. Can my former pediatric patients transfer their general care to Poppy?
I will no longer provide general pediatric care, but I miss my former patients and hope they are well and happy!
7. What do we do if we want to find out more about Poppy before making an appointment?
Please send us an email through the confidential “Contact Us” section on our website. We can certainly have a dialogue about your expectations to be sure that we are the right place for you.
